Workforce Pell Advisory Committee

The Workforce Pell Advisory Committee administers program reviews, certifies eligible programs, oversees the appeals process, and makes other state-level determinations.

The Committee will consist of:

• One representative from the Governor’s Office
• One representative from the New York State Department of Labor
• One representative from the State University of New York (SUNY)
• One representative from the City University New York (CUNY)
• One representative from the not-for-profit private college and university sector
• One representative from the for-profit private sector

Other representatives may attend when called upon for informational and technical purposes.

The Committee will meet at least monthly to review and approve program submissions, maintaining an up‑to‑date database of decisions. Committee members will be required to designate up to three representatives, but each sector will only receive one vote. This will ensure that the approval process continues in a timely manner in the event of absences, planned and unplanned. SUNY, CUNY and private college and university representatives will not have oversight over one another’s programs and must abstain from those votes.

The Committee will establish additional procedures as necessary to carry out its business in a timely manner.
