Real Estate Broker License (DOS 0036-a)
This license allows the holder to act as an agent in negotiations on real estate and certain mortgages.Overview
Permit authorizes the holder to act as an agent for another for a fee, in negotiations for the purchase, sale or rental of real property or for the negotiation of a mortgage secured by real property. An attorney who is currently a member of the New York State Bar is exempt from the education and experience requirements, but must submit a completed application and fee.
Requirements
1. Proof of Training/Experience based on education, experience or previous licensure, Always Required2. Applicant must be at least 20 years of age, Always Required
3. Exam - must pass the NYS Real Estate examination
4. Attorneys admitted to the NYS bar are exempt from exam, experience and educational requirements.
Education for original applicant is 152 hours of approved qualifying education.
