File a Complaint and Other Options

If your insurer does not follow the new behavioral health network adequacy rules and regulations, help is available. You can file a complaint with your insurer, get assistance from New York State, and/or talk to New York’s Behavioral Health Ombudsman, the Community Health Access to Addiction & Mental Healthcare Project (CHAMP).

If you have Medicaid, Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, or other Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) coverage, file a complaint with New York State Department of Health (DOH) using the contact information below.

For all other health insurance plans, file a complaint with the Department of Financial Services (DFS) using the options below.
