Putting Students First
In 2013, the New NY Education Reform Commission was charged with assessing the New York State public education system and creating a plan that would better its overall structure, operation and process.
After exploring best practices and models from other states and nations that created significant cost savings for taxpayers and improved student achievement, the Commission presented their final Action Plan in 2013 to include some of these initiatives. Full-day pre-K, awards for high performing teachers, and Early College High School programs are a few of the initiatives that were implemented into the 2013-2014 based on the Commission's findings.
