The New MTA

TOP The New MTA

This is the New MTA.

Under the leadership of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, New York State is building today for a better tomorrow. For millions of riders, the MTA’s record $27 billion Capital Plan means fewer delays, greater service capacity, and a better connected ride.

It’s part of New York State’s unprecedented $100 billion infrastructure plan to build the new New York. An investment that is constructing a new Tappan Zee Bridge – on budget with an on-time 2018 opening; a new airport at LaGuardia that’s already underway; a 1.2 million square foot expansion of Javits Convention Center; a record $27 billion to strengthen our Upstate roads, bridges, and airports; and much more.

BUILDING A STATE-OF-THE-ART TRANSIT SYSTEM

Cashless Tolling

Rolling out high-speed open road tolling in 2017 on all MTA-operated bridges and tunnels in the NYC region reduces traffic congestion and makes for a more convenient commute.

Harbor of Lights Project

The MTA’s eight crossings, plus the George Washington Bridge, will give the City that Never Sleeps a public art display like no other on the globe.
