Hate Crimes Task Force

About the Task Force

The Hate Crimes Task Force addresses bias-motivated threats, harassment, discrimination, and violence throughout New York State.

Run by the State Police with the assistance of the State Division of Human Rights, and the Division of Criminal Justice Services, the Task Force works together to prevent, investigate, and monitor Hate Crimes, violations of the Human Rights Law, and other bias-motivated incidents.

The Task Force works collaboratively with community organizations, local law enforcement, and prosecutors. Referrals are received from these entities, as well as from the hotline, the online form, and various other channels.
