Promoting Professional Development in State Government
New York State government is comprised of a diverse and dedicated workforce of remarkable individuals who provide valuable services to millions of their fellow New Yorkers. While every employee’s contribution is important and appreciated, many individual contributors often stand out by exceeding what is expected of them in their day-to-day work, and by going above and beyond during unforeseen circumstances and emergencies.
The Empire Star Public Service Award not only recognizes individual contributions to building a better New York, but supports New York State employees as they continue to develop as professionals with a $5,000 professional development award.
From our first responders to our nurses, engineers, research scientists, plow drivers, corrections officers and more - State government is privileged to rely on many of the best and brightest professionals New York State has to offer.
