About PII
Building on the successful program developed by AHRC NYC, the statewide Partnership for Inclusive Internships (PII) advances New York State’s goal of becoming a model employer by creating internship opportunities in State agencies for individuals with disabilities that may lead to long-term employment.
How PII Works
The PII Coordinator works with State agencies to identify internship opportunities and matches qualified candidates with disabilities to those opportunities.
Talented, qualified interns are recruited from:
- SUNY, CUNY, Commission on Independent Colleges & Universities in New York
- Approved service providers and other non-profit organizations
- High school and transition programs supporting youth with disabilities

Internship Duration
Depending on the opportunity, interns can be approved to work up to 320 hours over a 3 to 5-month time period.
