Intern Responsibilities

Assist with the DSP Certification programs. These duties could include but are not limited to:

  • Engage with OPWDD employees via phone call, email or in person meetings to ensure they understand what is required to earn the requisite DSP certification, including emailing link to set up account.
  • Assist with the scheduling and monitoring of workshops to assist OPWDD employees who are working to earn “badges” toward certification.
  • Organizing and cataloging employee training certificates needed to upload for certification. Following up with employees to confirm they understand and have successfully uploaded information.
  • Organizing and gathering information for the SUNY campuses in relation to the Microcredential program.
  • Assisting in organizing and gathering information for DSP events.

Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Workforce Team. These duties could include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring workforce general mailbox and providing timely responses using prepared frequently asked questions and responses.
  • Assisting in organizing and gathering information for events.

Required Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Good organization and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to compose simple email communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
