Hear the world premiere of Equality Now! by Gwyneth Walker, written for the Telos Trio, a celebration of the first Women's Rights Convention held in Seneca Falls, NY, in 1848. The six-movement work includes readings from suffragists' writings and the Declaration of Sentiments that was written for the Seneca Falls convention. The concert will musically trace the history of the women's suffrage movement from its inception in 1840 at the World Anti-Slavery Convention to 1917 when women voted for the first time in New York State.
