Dedication of Women's Suffrage Historic Marker to commemorate the first vote cast by 91 year old Delia Philips of LeRoy, on April 2. Miss Philips was one of 58 women to vote that day. In November 1917, the referendum to allow women to vote was defeated by the men of the LeRoy by 38 votes. Never the less, the referendum was passed in the state. The event is being coordinated by Lynne Belluscio, the Town and Village Historian, and Director of the LeRoy Historical Society.
