The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, known as NYSERDA, advances innovative energy solutions in ways that improve New York’s economy and environment.
NYSERDA, a public benefit corporation, offers objective information and analysis, innovative programs, and technical expertise to help New Yorkers increase energy efficiency, save money, use renewable energy, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. NYSERDA professionals work to protect the environment and create clean energy jobs. NYSERDA has been developing partnerships to advance innovative energy solutions in New York State since 1975.
NYSERDA’s initiatives under its Clean Energy Fund are designed to deliver on New York State’s commitment to reduce ratepayer collections, drive economic development, accelerate the use of clean energy and energy innovation, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
These Clean Energy Fund initiatives are focused on four primary areas:
Market Development
Reduces costs, accelerates demand for energy efficiency and other clean energy solutions, and increases private investment.
NY-Sun
Provides incentives and financing to make solar-generated electricity accessible and affordable for all New York homeowners, renters, and businesses.
NY Green Bank
Works collaboratively with the private sector developers, ESCOs, financiers and others active in the clean energy economy to increase investments into New York’s clean energy markets, addressing existing financing gaps through capital solutions.
Innovation and Research
Invests in cutting-edge technologies that will meet increasing demand for clean energy.
NYSERDA works with stakeholders throughout New York including residents, business owners, developers, community leaders, local government officials, university researchers, utility representatives, investors, and entrepreneurs.
