GOVERNOR SPITZER ANNOUNCES NOMINATION TO THRUWAY AUTHORITY AND CANAL CORPORATION

Governor Eliot Spitzer today announced that he will nominate Brandon R. Sall to serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation. The Thruway Authority is a seven member board, each member serves a nine year term. Members of the Thruway Authority Board also serve as members of the Canal Corporation Board.

Mr. Sall currently serves as a partner at Schuman, Sall, and Geist. Since joining Schuman, Sall and Geist in 1992, he has specialized in real estate law, trusts and estates, tax certiorari, litigation, and transactional work. Mr. Sall is also a partner in the law firm of Gellert & Rodner where he practices tax certiorari law. He has practiced law in New York since 1986. Mr. Sall is a graduate of the University of Miami and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

The Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation are charged with operating the New York State Thruway and the New York State canal system. These are unpaid positions and require Senate confirmation.
