PRESS OFFICE OF GOVERNOR SPITZER ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES
The Press Office of Governor Eliot Spitzer today announced two new Press Officers and an internal promotion.
Jennifer Givner will serve as Deputy Press Secretary. Ms. Givner has served as a Press Officer in the Governor’s Press Office since January 2007. Previously, Ms. Givner served as the Press Secretary for the New York City Department of Buildings; as Policy Analyst for the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services, and as a Press Aide in the New York State Office of the Attorney General. Ms. Givner earned a B.A. from Hartwick College and an M.A. from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. Ms. Givner’s new position is effective immediately.
Erin Duggan will serve as a Press Officer in the New York City Press Office. Ms. Duggan previously worked in public relations at Weber Shandwick Worldwide. Before joining Weber Shandwick she reported for several newspapers, including the New York Times, Albany Times Union and Syracuse Post-Standard. During her time as a reporter, she covered the state Capitol for three years, and served as the President of the Legislative Correspondents Association. Ms. Duggan earned a B.A. from Colby College and an M.A. from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Ms. Duggan will begin February 4, 2008.
Morgan Hook will serve as a Press Officer in the Albany Press Office. Mr. Hook previously worked as a reporter for CBS Channel 6 in Albany reporting on state government and Albany news. Before moving to Albany he reported for NBC Channel 22 in Springfield, Massachusetts and NBC Channel 12 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He also produced documentaries for PBS in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Mr. Hook earned a B.S. from Boston University. Mr. Hook will begin January 28, 2008.
