ELIOT SPITZER was inaugurated as New York’s 54th Governor on January 1, 2007.
In his inaugural address, Governor Spitzer said: “Every policy, every action and every decision we make in this administration will further two overarching objectives: We must transform our government so that it is as ethical and wise as all of New York, and we must rebuild our economy so that it is ready to compete on the global stage in the next century.”

SILDA WALL SPITZER is Founding Chair of Children for Children (CFC), a not-for-profit organization that creates opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to Grow Involved through volunteering and service starting at an early age. Through Ms. Wall’s leadership and vision, CFC and its young volunteers have engaged in tens of thousands of service hours to improve their communities and the lives of others. For example, CFC has placed over two million dollars in resources in underserved schools, fundraised to provide bed nets for children in malaria endemic countries, and collected hundreds of thousands of books to build classroom libraries, in addition to countless other accomplishments.
