DEPUTY SECRETARY FOR INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS - MARTY MACK
Biography

On December 15, 2006, Governor-Elect Eliot Spitzer announced he would appoint Marty Mack
to serve as Deputy Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs. Mr. Mack served for
eight years as Deputy Attorney General. From 1980 to 1998 Mr. Mack practiced
law while working as a public servant in a variety of capacities. Mr. Mack
served as Assistant District Attorney of Cortland County from 1980-1983,
Cortland County Attorney from 1984-1987, Mayor of the City of Cortland from
1988-1992 and Executive Chair of the New York State Democratic Party in
1998. Mr. Mack received his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D. from
the University of South Carolina.
As Deputy Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Mack's salary will be $165,000. This appointment does not require Senate confirmation.
